Project Construction, Traffic Impacts, and Completion

After construction begins, the contractor will have approximately 70 calendar days to complete the project. At this time, construction is anticipated to start April 7, 2025, and be complete by June 6, 2025. Outer Road 44 over the Little Bourbeuse River will be closed for the duration of the work. Closing the bridge makes the road safer for our contractor and the drivers.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why is MoDOT rehabilitating the bridge?

Built in 1966, the elements and travelers have taken their toll on the bridge deck. The deck has deteriorated to the point where it needs to be replaced, but the substructure is still in good condition.

The bridge will be closed during construction and travelers will need to use an alternate route.
