Oregon Route V Bridges over Janes Creek and Mill Creek

NOTICE OF OPPORTUNITY FOR PUBLIC HEARING

Bridge Improvements in Oregon County

SIKESTON-The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission is planning to improve two bridges on Route V in Oregon County.

One project includes replacing the deck and superstructure of the Janes Creek Bridge on Route V, located approximately 3.25 miles south of Route 142 near Jeff, Missouri.

The other project includes replacing the deck and superstructure of the Mill Creek Bridge on Route V, located approximately 0.25 miles west of Route H near Myrtle, Missouri.

Construction could begin as early as summer 2017. Construction will be staged so that work is not underway at both locations (Janes Creek and Mill Creek) at the same time. As construction is underway, Route V will be closed to through traffic in the vicinity of the bridge. Construction is expected to be underway for six to eight weeks at each location.

Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation, or interested agency, will be available for public inspection and copying at the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main Street, Sikeston, MO 63801 or the Missouri Department of Transportation’s Regional office, 3956 E. Main Street, Willow Springs, MO 65793.

Any person affected by this project may request that a public hearing be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public hearing shall be in writing and must be submitted to the District Engineer at P.O. Box 160, Sikeston, MO 63801, by January 26, 2017.
