When: As of 8 a.m., Wednesday, September 9
Where: Lawrence County Route K bridge over Honey Creek southeast of Mt. Vernon
What: MoDOT closed the bridge due to deterioration observed during routine inspection. It will remain closed until it is replaced at a future date to be determined.
Traffic Impacts:
- All lanes of Route K CLOSED over the Honey Creek
- Drivers will have access to driveways and entrances at either end of the bridge but will not be able to drive across the bridge
- Drivers are urged to use Lawrence County Route FF and Missouri Route 39 to avoid the closure
- Signs will alert drivers approaching the bridge
- No signed detours, drivers urged to find alternate routes
- Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts
