ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Putnam County Route 129 North Blackbird Creek Bridge, northeast of Unionville, and Route M Medicine Creek Fork Bridge, west of Powersville, are scheduled to close Monday, Sept. 21, through Friday, Oct. 2, for bridge approach pavement repairs. Motorists should seek an alternative route during the closure.
These bridges were replaced in 2025 as part of the Northwest Bridge Bundle. The Capital-Horner & Shifrin design-build team will be completing the repair project.
Design-build is a project delivery method in which one contracting team is selected to design and build the highway improvement under one contract. MoDOT provides the project goals, budget and schedule and the contractor team completes the work. This technique has been known to significantly save time and provide cost savings.
