Route 65 Widening/Evans Road Bridge Projects
Update for Week of June 24
- Work progressing on Evans Road Bridge
- Nighttime lane closings on Route 65 for paving work
Work Scheduled:
- Building and paving pavement connections to Evans Road bridge
- Pouring concrete for bridge walls on Evans Road bridge late in week
- Laying asphalt in areas on northbound and southbound Route to correct "crown" of road
- Pouring concrete for new bridge deck/driving surface on widened portion of Farmer's Branch bridge
Traffic Impacts:
- Nighttime lane closings on Route 65. Work hours: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Crews and equipment close to traffic during daytime hours
(Weather or construction delays could alter the work schedule.)
Project Summary:
- Widen Route 65 to six lanes — three lanes in each direction — between a point south of Evans Road and Christian County Routes CC/J to continue the progress to six lane Route 65 south to Ozark
- Widen and rehabilitate southbound Route 65 bridge over Farmer’s Branch south of Evans Road to accommodate new lanes
- Rehabilitate Evans Road bridge over Route 65 (Evans Road bridge over Route 65 CLOSED during the project until late July 2019)
- Total Project Cost: $10.2 million
- Overall Completion Date: August 2019
