MoDOT Project Update:

Route 65 Widening/Evans Road Bridge Project Week of July 8
  • Nighttime lane closings on Route 65 between Evan’s Road and Route CC/J 

Work Scheduled:

  • Pouring concrete for bridge wall on southbound Route 65 Farmer’s Branch bridge
  • Grading rock in median for new shoulders along the new inside lanes of Route 65
  • Evan’s Road bridge work
    • Installing new guardrail
    • Reinstalling traffic signal detector loops in the pavement at the bridge
    • Sealing new bridge deck
    • Preparing for new pavement striping 

Traffic Impacts:

  • Possible nighttime lane closings on Route 65 between Evans Road and Christian County Routes CC/J. Work hours: 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Southbound Route 65 traffic shifted to right at Farmer’s Branch bridge south of Evans Road
  • Route 65 speed limit reduced to 55 mph between Evans Road and a point south of Farmer’s Branch bridge
  • Evans Road bridge scheduled to reopen by July 19
  • Equipment moving in and out of work areas 

Weather and/or construction delays will alter the work schedule.

Here’s a look at the Route 65/Evans Road Bridge project:

  • Widen Route 65 to six lanes — three lanes in each direction — between a point south of Evans Road and Christian County Routes CC/J  to continue the progress to six lane Route 65 south to Ozark
  • Widen and rehabilitate southbound Route 65 bridge over Farmer’s Branch south of Evans Road to accommodate new lanes
  • Rehabilitate Evans Road bridge over Route 65
  • Contractor: Millstone Weber, LLC of St. Charles
  • Estimated total project cost: $10.2 million
  • Project scheduled for completion by late summer 2019
