MoDOT to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony for Route 67 (West Alton) Project

ST. LOUIS COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) will host a groundbreaking ceremony for its Route 67 Safety and Operational Improvements project in West Alton. The groundbreaking will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 12 at the West Alton City Hall, 111 Richard Dr. 63386.

The Route 67 project will improve safety and operations along the four-lane divided highway, from the Missouri River to just north of St. Charles Street in St. Charles County.

The public is invited to join MoDOT staff and contractors, St. Charles County and St. Louis County officials and others as they mark the beginning of this project.  Plans include constructing J-turn lanes; improving/adding acceleration and deceleration lanes at cross streets; and drainage, signing, lighting and guardrail improvements along the corridor.  The project is expected to be completed in spring 2028.
