JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – For the safety of the traveling public and construction crews, one trilevel ramp is expected to close, and U.S. Route 50 in Jefferson City is set to narrow overnight next week for bridge work over the highway.
From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., nightly Tuesday, June 2, through Thursday, June 4, one lane in each direction of U.S. Route 50, west of Missouri Boulevard, is expected to close for crews to safely complete bridge work. Overnight Wednesday, June 3, the ramp from westbound U.S. Route 50 to eastbound U.S. Route 54 will be closed. A signed detour will direct motorists to use Missouri Boulevard to access eastbound U.S. Route 54.
Construction crews working with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be applying a protective coating to the supporting structures and completing additional work on the driving surface of the Bolivar Street overpass bridge over U.S. Route 50 and replacing some signs in the area.
The Bolivar Street Bridge remains closed to all traffic, including motorized vehicles, pedestrians, bicycles, and all modes of transportation. The bridge is expected to reopen in early August.
All work is weather-permitting and subject to change.
