JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on a project to replace the Phelps County Route HH bridge over Spring Creek, north of Rolla. Built in 1958, the Spring Creek Bridge is in poor condition, showing signs it has reached the end of its useful life, and in need of replacement. Construction is expected in 2027.
Replacing the bridge will require a full closure of Route HH at the bridge for approximately five months. There will be no signed detour, but signed located well ahead of the closure will alert motorist use an alternate route.
As part of the design process, MoDOT is seeking community input and has multiple ways by which interested parties can provide feedback during the open comment period, May 13 – June 3, 2026. By commenting, questioning, and providing community insight, the public’s input is essential in helping to guide the design and construction process.
- In person – An open-house style public meeting will be held Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. at Fellowship Hall at the Spring Creek Baptist Church, located at 14975 State Route HH, Rolla. The project team will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and receive input about the project. There will be no formal presentation, so attendees may come and go as they please at any time during the advertised hours.
