Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

April 27 - May 3, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area April 27 - May 3, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.        

All Counties 

In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, striping, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County  

Route NN – Pothole patching planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 124 – Culvert replacements planned in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

Interstate 70 – Rolling roadblocks are planned for 2 p.m. April 28 and 2 p.m. May 1 for blasting operations between the Missouri River and Route BB. These short-term operations are anticipated to last for 15 minutes each.**  

Conley Road – CLOSED at the intersection of Business Loop 70 for construction of a roundabout. A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The new intersection is expected to open by the end of May 2026.** 

I-70 – Intermittent single-lane nighttime closures are set to begin April 29 and continue through June. Core drilling and shoulder strengthening will close one lane of I-70 between mile marker 115 (Route BB) and 121 (Midway) from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. as needed.**U.S. Route 63  Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026. More information: www.modot.org/projects/63ACInterchange. 

  • The northbound on- and off-ramps at the interchange are closed through June. 
  • New Haven Road CLOSED through June from the southbound U.S. Route 63 on- and off-ramps to Lenoir Street. 
  • Lemone Industrial Boulevard CLOSED through June where it joins New Haven Road. 

I-70 Drive Southeast – CLOSED from just west of Woodridge Drive to Glenstone Drive for construction of a new underpass. The entrance to Woodridge Drive from I-70 Drive Southeast is also closed. A signed detour directs motorists around the closure. The roadway is expected to reopen in January 2027.** 

St. Charles Road – CLOSED over I-70 for bridge construction. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 131) are open, and a signed detour is in place. The new bridge is expected to open in September 2026.** 

North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Callaway County Route J (near mile marker 136.6). There is no designated detour, but advanced signing alerts motorists to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. ** 

I-70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136). Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Callaway County 

North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED at Cedar Creek, west of Route J (near mile marker 136.6). There is no designated detour, but signs arlocated ahead of the closure to alert motorist to use an alternate route for the duration of the closure, which is expected through January 2027. ** 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148). Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Westbound I-70 on-ramp – The U.S. Route 54 ramp onto westbound I-70 in Kingdom City is is closed through mid-June. In addition, the eastbound I-70 off-ramp to U.S. Route 54 will be limited to a right turn (no direct access to eastbound U.S. Route 54). Motorists will be directed to use North Outer Road 70.** 

Camden County 

Route A – Roadside work planned April 27 - 28 at Folks Farm Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route F – Culvert replacement planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue in Camdenton. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.  

Cole County 

Route D – Culvert replacement planned April 29 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 179 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over Rock Creek. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

Bolivar Street – CLOSED over U.S. Route 50 for a bridge rehabilitation projectAll traffic must use an alternate route. The bridge is expected to reopen to traffic in mid-August. 

Cooper County 

Missouri Route 41  Railroad crossing maintenance planned April 29 between Route CC and the Lamine River. The roadway will be CLOSED from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work is being performed under a MoDOT issued permit with the Union Pacific Railroad.  

I-70 – Median work for new pavement construction continues from Missouri Route 5 in Boonville (mile marker 101) to the Missouri River Bridge at Rocheport (mile marker 115)Motorists can expect intermittent overnight lane closures in both directions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. with an 11-foot width restriction. This portion of the Improve I-70 Program has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Crawford County 

Route ZZ – Pothole patching planned April 27 from Route 19 to McLeod Street. The roadway will be CLOSED from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Motorist will need to seek an alternate route.  

Route BB – Pothole patching planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

I-44 – 7 p.m. April 28 through 6:30 a.m. April 29 at mile marker 204 - in the median between eastbound and westbound traffic. One eastbound lane will be closed to facilitate the clean-up 

I-44  7 p.m. April 29 through 6:30 a.m. April 30 at mile marker 218 - in the median between eastbound and westbound traffic. One westbound lane will be closed to facilitate the clean-up. 

Dent County 

Missouri Route 19 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in the city limits of Salem. Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed by September 2026. 

Route B – CLOSED at the bridge over Dry Creek due to deterioration near one of the supporting structures. Motorists may use Missouri Routes 19, 32 and 72 as detour routes around the closure. A project to replace the bridge is scheduled to be completed this year.  

Howard County 

Route V – Resurfacing scheduled to begin April 21. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Route 124 – Culvert replacements planned in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

Laclede County 

Route O – Shoulder work planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route M  Pavement sealing planned April 29 - May 7 between Missouri Route 38 in Dallas County to Route Y near Conway. A pilot car will detour motorist through the work zone.  

Maries County 

Missouri Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Fly Creek Bridge beginning April 27. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in August 2026. 

Route M – Culvert replacement planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Miller County 

Route U – Pothole patching planned April 29 - 30 from Route 42 to Route EE. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Moniteau County 

Route 87 – Culvert replacement planned April 27 - 30 from Route 179 to Route O. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 87  Permit work planned April 29 - May 1 between Business 50 and West Russell Street. The roadway will be CLOSED. Work is being performed under a MoDOT issued permit with Gene Haile Excavating Inc. 

Route CC – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the South Moreau Creek. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2026. 

Osage County 

Routes C, CC, and W – Pothole patching planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Phelps County 

I-44 – Pothole patching between Route V and Route 72 in both directions April 26 - 30. The driving lane (right lane) will be closed nightly from 6:30 p.m. till 6 a.m 

Route V – Pothole patching planned April 26 - 30. from Hypoint Boulevard to I-44.  One lane will be closed nightly from 6:30 p.m. till 6 a.m 

Route AA – Roadside work planned April 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2026. 

Route J – CLOSED for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 169) will remain open and a signed detour will be in place. The project is scheduled for completion in June 2026. 

Business Loop 44/Route 72/Kingshighway – Bridge rehabilitation project over I-44 continues, one eastbound lane will remain open. The bridge is CLOSED to all westbound traffic, and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

County Road 8490 (Sugar Tree Road) – CLOSED for bridge rehabilitation over I-44. The on- and off-ramps at this overpass (Exit 176) will remain open and a signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 133 – Guardrail installation continues from Route 17 to I-44. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.  

Route 17 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Waynesville from Summit Avenue to Lynn Street. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. 

Business Loop 44 westbound ramp – The ramp from Business Loop 44 to westbound I-44 is CLOSED at mile marker 159 in St. Robert. Motorists will need to use an alternate route. The ramp is expected to reopen at the end of June.  

I-44  A pavement widening project from just east of Exit 156 in Waynesville to Exit 159 in St. Robert is underwayMotorists can expect intermittent nighttime lane closures in both directions and intermittent daytime rolling roadblocks and ramp closures from Exit 169 to Exit 150. The project has an overall completion date in 2027. 

Washington County 

Route M – Pothole patching planned April 27 - 30. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route CC – Pavement resurfacing scheduled to begin April 28. Work will require single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in July 2026. 

Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. 

Route T – Culvert rehabilitation at Big Indian Creek near Potosi continues. Minimal traffic impacts are expected during the project which is expected to be completed by July 1, 2026.
