JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – As part of the interchange improvements at U.S. Route 63 and Boone County Route AC (Grindstone Parkway), New Haven Road is scheduled to close to all traffic from just east of the U.S. Route 63 northbound on- and off-ramps to the new alignment of Lenoir Street. The work will also close a portion of Lemone Industrial Boulevard where it joins New Haven Road. During the closure, which is expected to continue into early June, crews will conduct electrical work, drainage improvements and roadway widening. In addition, two new traffic signals will be installed on New Haven Road at Lenoir Street and at Lemone Industrial Boulevard to improve traffic flow.
From March 9 through April 7, both the on- and off-ramps for northbound U.S. Route 63 will remain open. On April 8, the northbound off-ramp to New Haven Road is expected close for the construction of the new northbound loop on-ramp and the new northbound off-ramp. Both new ramps are expected to open at the end of June. Throughout this ramp construction, when possible, crews will leave a single eastbound lane of Grindstone Parkway open to allow traffic to utilize the northbound U.S. Route 63 on-ramp. Southbound ramps will not be impacted during this construction. Motorists should remain alert for changing traffic patterns at the interchange
Drivers will be able to access Lemone Industrial Boulevard from Missouri Route 740 (Stadium Boulevard) and Maguire Boulevard.
Access to New Haven Elementary School will remain open at the easternmost entrance. The school – and all points east – will be accessible from the south via Discovery Parkway and Lenoir Street or from the north by taking the Broadway/Route WW exit and continuing to S. Rolling Hills Road to East New Haven Road.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
