Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

March 2 - 8, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.  The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the midMissouri area March. 2  8, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.        

All Counties 

In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County   

U.S. Route 63  Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026. More information: www.modot.org/projects/63ACInterchange. 

  • New Haven Road to CLOSE March 9 – early June from just east of the northbound U.S. Route 63 on- and off-ramps to Lenoir Street. 
  • Lamone Industrial Boulevard to CLOSE March 9 – early June where it joins New Haven Road. 

Interstate 70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Callaway County 

U.S. Route 54  Traffic shift scheduled to the week of March 2 at I-70 in Kingdom CityWestbound U.S. Route 54 will be pushed onto the newly constructed bridge, and eastbound U.S. Route 54 will shift onto the current westbound lanes. All ramps are expected to remain open during this phase of construction, which is expected to continue into early April 2026. ** 

U.S. Route 54 – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6 south of Fulton from Middle River to Route BB. 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Camden County 

Missouri Route 7 – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue in Camdenton. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. Drainage and driveway work scheduled from Lake Road to Hopkins Circle EastThe traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.  

Crawford County 

Missouri Route 8 – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6 in Steelville from Route TT to Missouri Route 19. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes C and CC – Culvert replacements planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones 

Route ZZ – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.  

Dent County 

Route 19 – Culvert replacement planned March 3 – 6 north of Salem from County Road 4122 to County Road 4126. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Howard County 

Route H – Bridge maintenance planned March 3 – 6 over Salt Fork. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Routes HH and U – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Route Y – Culvert replacement planned March 3 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Laclede County 

Route W – Roadside work planned March 2 – 4. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

I-44 – Sealing operations planned March 2 – 6, eastbound only from mile marker 136 to mile marker 140 (Stoutland to Sleeper). 

Missouri Route 5 – Sealing operations planned March 2 – 6 in the city limits of Lebanon from 7th Street to Bland Road. One lane will be closed 

Maries County 

Missouri Route 42 – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. (The Fly Creek Bridge on Route 42 will close soon after the Maries River Bridge reopens. The Fly Creek Bridge will remain closed through August 2026.) 

Miller County 

Route EE – Pavement repairs planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route K – Shoulder work planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Moniteau County 

U.S. Route 50 – Shoulder work planned March 2 – 6 from Flag Spring Road to County Line Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 179 – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 from Boxwood Drive to Bacon Bridge Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Phelps County 

U.S. Route 63 – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 south of Rolla from Route W to County Road 5300. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 63 – Roadside work planned March 2 – 6 north of Rolla from the Maries County line to County Road 2000. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route BB – Shoulder work planned March 2 – 6 in Rolla from Condo Drive to Green Briar Drive. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route W – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2026. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 133 – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 northeast of Richland from Route BB to Rosefinch Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 28 – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 in Dixon at Chestnut Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route T – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 in Swedeborg at Apple Street. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Washington County 

Missouri Route 21 – Culvert replacement planned March 2 – 6 south of Potosi at Schroer Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. For more information about the work stoppage: https://www.modot.org/node/80126
