CLAY/JACKSON COUNTY – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT KC) is seeking public comment input regarding the I-29/I-35 Viaduct Bridges Replacement in Clay and Jackson Counties comment period opened at 4 pm on Thursday, February 26. The public is invited to leave questions and comments here: Missouri DOT PIMA Public Forms. A public meeting on the project was held on Thursday, February 26th at the North Kansas City Parks and Recreation Department.
The project study area includes Interstate 29/35 in the Kansas City metropolitan area in Clay County/North Kansas City and Jackson County/Kansas City to the north and south of the Bond Bridge. Two lanes of Interstate 29/35, both northbound and southbound, will remain open during construction. Construction of the projects is anticipated to start in 2028. Due to phasing and coordination with the railroads under the bridges, construction of the bridges could take up to four years to complete.
