Project Summary
Two bridge replacements will take place on Interstate 29/35, as well as widening of the bridge over Front Street. The two bridge replacements take place on either side of the Christopher S. Bond Bridge (Kit Bond Bridge).

- I-29/35 viaduct bridge replacement over Guinotte Ave.
- I-29/35 bridge widening over East Front Street.
- I-29/35 viaduct bridge replacement over Bedford Ave.
Details
- Two lanes of Interstate 29/35, both northbound and southbound, will remain open during construction.
- This project includes replacement of two large bridges on either side of the Missouri River and the widening of the bridge over East Front Street.
- Construction of the projects is anticipated to start in 2028. Due to phasing and coordination with the railroads under the bridges, construction of the bridges could take up to four years to complete.
Public Involvement
A public meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 18 from 4 pm - 6 pm at the North Kansas City Parks and Recreation Center located at 1201 Clark Ferguson Drive, North Kansas City, MO 64116.
