JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Feb. 23 – March 1, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Most of the current planned work is not expected to impact traffic, but motorists should be alert for crews and equipment in close proximity to the traveling public. Slow down, use caution, and obey all construction signing. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026.
Interstate 70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Callaway County
U.S. Route 54 – Roadside work planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Middle River to Route BB.
I-70 – Bridge maintenance planned Feb. 24 – 26 over U.S. Route 54 in Kingdom City (mile marker 148). One lane will be open in each direction from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. **
Route F – CLOSED for roadside work Feb. 28, from County Road 323 to County Road 257 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
North Outer Road 70 (Old U.S. Route 40) – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek, west of Kingdom City (near I-70 mile marker 146.4). Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. **
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Camden County
Route U – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. Drainage and driveway work scheduled from Whispering Pines Drive to Hopkins Circle East. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.
Crawford County
Routes C, CC, and TT – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 49, M, V, and ZZ – Roadside work planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Howard County
Missouri Route 5 – Roadside work planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Route DD to U.S. Route 40. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
I-44 – Sealing operations planned Feb. 23 – 27, eastbound only from mile marker 136 to mile marker 140 (Stoutland to Sleeper).
Route 5 – Sealing operations planned Feb. 23 – 27 in the city limits of Lebanon from 7th Street to Bland Road. One lane will be closed.
Maries County
Missouri Routes 42 and 28 – Roadside work planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Route 28 – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. (The Fly Creek Bridge on Route 42 will close soon after the Maries River Bridge reopens. The Fly Creek Bridge will remain closed through August 2026.)
Miller County
Route D – Pavement repairs planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route EE – Pavement repairs planned Feb. 24 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route MM – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
U.S. Route 50 – Shoulder work planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Flag Spring Road to County Line Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
U.S. Route 63 – Culvert replacement planned from Route W to County Road 5300 Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route A – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Route E to the Maries County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Forum Drive to Country Club Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes O and T – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2026.
Pulaski County
Missouri Route 17 – Shoulder work planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Route DD to Waynesville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 133 – Culvert replacement planned Feb. 23 – 27 from Route BB to Rosefinch Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route D – Shoulder work planned Feb. 23 – 27. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Missouri Route 185 – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 23 – 27 at Route A. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. For more information about the work stoppage: https://www.modot.org/node/80126
