JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Feb. 9 – 15, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Route K and Old Plank Road intersection – Old Plank Road CLOSED for continued roundabout construction. Detours are in place. This is a cost-share project between the City of Columbia and MoDOT and is scheduled for completion in February 2026.
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Most of the current planned work is not expected to impact traffic, but motorists should be alert for crews and equipment in close proximity to the traveling public. Slow down, use caution, and obey all construction signing. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026.
Interstate 70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Callaway County
I-70 – Pothole patching planned nightly Feb. 8 – 9, eastbound only, from mile marker 148 to mile marker 165 (Kingdom City to the Montgomery County line) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Business U.S. 54 – Pavement repairs planned Feb. 9 – 10 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 – Pothole patching planned nightly Feb. 10 – 11, westbound only, from mile marker 165 to mile marker 148 (Montgomery County Line to Kingdom City) from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.
U.S. Route 54 – Roadside work planned Feb. 11, westbound only, from Middle River to Route BB.
North Outer Road 70 (Old U.S. Route 40) – CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek, west of Kingdom City (near I-70 mile marker 146.4). Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. **
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Camden County
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. Drainage and driveway work scheduled from L.A. Drive and Hopkins Avenue. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026.
Crawford County
I-44 – Sealing operations planned Feb. 9 – 13, westbound only, from mile marker 226 to mile marker 218 (Sullivan to Bourbon).
Route BB – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Route U to Route F. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 49, M, and V – Roadside work planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Cooper County
Missouri Route 98 – Culvert replacement planned Feb. 9 – 13 at Rose Cottage Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Dent County
Route N – Culvert replacement planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route TT – Bridge maintenance planned Feb. 9 – 13 over Crooked Creek. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Howard County
Missouri Route 5 – Roadside work planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Route DD to U.S. Route 40. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
I-44 – Sealing operations planned Feb. 9 – 13, eastbound only, from mile marker 145 to mile marker 135 (Hazelgreen to Sleeper).
Route 5 – Sealing operations planned Feb. 9 – 13 in the city limits of Lebanon from 7th Street to Bland Road. One lane will be closed.
Maries County
Routes 42 and 133 – Roadside work planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Missouri Route 28 – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 42 – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2026. (The Fly Creek Bridge on Route 42 will close soon after the Maries River Bridge reopens. The Fly Creek Bridge will remain closed through August 2026.)
Miller County
Route KK– Culvert replacement planned Feb. 9 at Fat Tire Lane. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route EE – Pavement repairs planned Feb. 10. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 52– Culvert replacement planned Feb. 11 at Route PP. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
U.S. Route 50 – Shoulder work planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Flag Spring Road to County Line Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Morgan County
Route 52 and Route 5 intersection – Roundabout construction continues in Versailles. The project is scheduled for completion in March 2026.
Osage County
Route P – Roadside work planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Route T to U.S. Route 63. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
Route A – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Route E to the Maries County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Forum Drive to Country Club Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in February 2026.
Pulaski County
Missouri Route 17 – Shoulder work planned Feb. 9 – 13 from Crocker to Waynesville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route DD – Shoulder work planned Feb. 9 – 13. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 17 – Bridge maintenance planned Feb. 9 – 13 over I-44 at Buckhorn (Exit 153). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route H – Bridge maintenance planned Feb. 9 – 13 over I-44 at Waynesville (Exit 156). One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone
Washington County
Route M – Culvert replacements planned Feb. 9 – 13 in various locations from Missouri Route 21 to Route BB. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones.
Missouri Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. Work is currently suspended. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. For more information about the work stoppage: https://www.modot.org/node/80126
