Planned Road Work for Mid-Missouri

Jan. 19 - 25, 2026

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.  The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the midMissouri area Jan. 19  25, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.        

All Counties 

In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment. 

All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change. 

Boone County   

Interstate 70 ramps at Stadium Boulevard – Core drilling planned Jan. 21 – 22 will narrow the eastbound I-70 ramp to Stadium Boulevard and the Stadium Boulevard ramp to westbound I-70 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Crews will flag motorists through the work zone.**   

Route K and Old Plank Road intersection – Old Plank Road CLOSED for continued roundabout construction. Detours are in place. This is a cost-share project between the City of Columbia and MoDOT and is scheduled for completion in February 2026. 

U.S. Route 63  Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Most of the current planned work is not expected to impact traffic, but motorists should be alert for crews and equipment in close proximity to the traveling public. Slow down, use caution, and obey all construction signing. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026. 

North Outer Road 70  CLOSED for a culvert extension project at Little Cedar Creek, east of Columbia, near mile marker 134.8 on I-70. Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. ** 

I-70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Callaway County 

Route UU – Shoulder work planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route T – CLOSED from County Road 189 to County Road 166 for culvert replacements Jan. 20from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 

Route AE – CLOSED from U.S. Route 54 to Old Route 54 for culvert replacements Jan20from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 

Route EE – CLOSED from County Road 1024 to County Road 1006 for culvert replacements Jan. 21from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 

Route EE – CLOSED from County Road 1002 to the end of state maintenance for culvert replacements Jan. 22from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Motorists must use an alternate route. 

Business U.S. 54 – Shoulder work planned Jan. 22 at St. Eunice Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

North Outer Road 70 (Old U.S. Route 40)  CLOSED for a culvert replacement project at Sallees Creek, west of Kingdom City (near I-70 mile marker 146.4). Motorists must use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. ** 

I-70 – New pavement construction continues from Route M (near mile marker 144to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. ** 

Camden County 

Missouri Route 7 – Roadside work planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Missouri Route 5 to the Benton County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue. Traffic is shifted between Business Route 5 and Bumper Hill Road, with one lane open in each direction, but no center turn lane. Driveway replacements are scheduled this week between Blair Avenue and Bumper Hill Road. The traffic shift is expected to remain in place through spring 2026. 

Crawford County 

I-44  Sealing operations planned Jan. 19 – 23, westbound only, from mile marker 226 to mile marker 218 (Sullivan to Bourbon). 

North Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Route U to Route F. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. 

Routes C and CC – Pavement repairs planned Jan. 19  23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. 

Routes BB and F – Culvert replacements planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.  

Routes 8, 49, M, V, and Y – Roadside work planned Jan19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. Width restrictions varying from 10 to 12 feet will be in place. 

Dent County 

Missouri Route 32 – Culvert replacements planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Howes Mill to just east of Route AC. One lane will remain open with a 10-foot width restriction, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.  

Howard County 

Missouri Route 5 – Roadside work planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Route DD to U.S. Route 40. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Laclede County 

I-44 – Bridge maintenance planned Jan. 19 – 30 over the Gasconade River bridge west of mile marker 145, near Richland 

I-44 – Sealing operations planned Jan. 19 – 23, eastbound only, from mile marker 145 to mile marker 135 (Hazelgreen to Sleeper). 

Maries County 

Routes 42, 133 and Z – Roadside work planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 28 – Culvert replacements planned Jan. 19 – 23 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route N – Shoulder work planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Miller County 

Routes H and MM – CLOSED for culvert replacements Jan. 19 – 23, from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route. 

Morgan County 

Missouri Route 52 and Route 5 intersection  Roundabout construction continues in Versailles. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026. 

Phelps County 

Route A  Culvert replacement planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Route E to the Maries County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route BB – Culvert replacement planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Forum Drive to Country Club Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route O – Culvert replacements planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026. 

Pulaski County 

Missouri Route 17 – Shoulder work planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Crocker to Waynesville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route HH – Shoulder work planned Jan. 19 – 23. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route T – Culvert replacements planned Jan. 19 – 23 from Rockport Road to Rawlings Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route 17 – Bridge maintenance planned Jan. 19 – 30 at mile marker 153 over I-44 at Buckhorn. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone. 

Route H – Bridge maintenance planned Jan. 19 – 30 at mile marker 156 over I-44 at Waynesville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone 

Washington County 

Route M – Culvert replacements planned Jan19 – 23 in various locations from Missouri Route 21 to Route BB. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zones. 

Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. Work is currently suspended. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. For more information about the work stoppage: https://www.modot.org/node/80126
