St. Joseph, Mo. – The project to replace the Gene Field Road Bridge over Interstate 29 in St. Joseph was awarded on Friday, Jan. 9 to Clarkson Construction Company by the Missouri Department of Transportation for $5,564,370.23.
MoDOT is working with the contractor to establish a project timeline. By contract, the notice to proceed date, the earliest construction may begin, is Friday, Jan. 16.

Traffic Impacts: Gene Field Road is closed at the bridge over I-29. Motorists should seek an alternate route.
