JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work planned in the mid–Missouri area Dec. 29, 2025 – Jan. 4, 2026. Weather conditions may postpone scheduled work. Many projects will include lane closures which could cause delays.
All Counties
In addition to the work listed below, other moving operations such as pothole patching, brush cutting, and pavement repairs continue in various locations. Motorists should travel with care and be alert for slow-moving equipment.
All work is weather permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
Boone County
Missouri Route 763 (College Avenue) – Concrete curb replacement scheduled Dec. 29 – 31 from Rogers Street to East Ash Street. One lane will remain open, while work is being done by Prost Builders under a MoDOT-issued permit.
U.S. Route 63 – Interchange improvements at Route AC (Grindstone Parkway) continue. Most of the current planned work will not impact traffic, but motorists should be alert for crews and equipment in close proximity to the traveling public. Slow down, use caution, and obey all construction signing. This project is scheduled to continue through November 2026.
North Outer Road 70 – CLOSED for a culvert extension project at Little Cedar Creek, east of Columbia, near mile marker 134.8 on Interstate 70. Motorists need to use an alternate route during the closure, which is expected to continue through February 2026. **
I-70 – New pavement construction from west of St. Charles Road (near mile marker 130) to the Callaway County line (near mile marker 136) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Callaway County
Route D – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – 30 from Route O to County Road 4053. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes J and UU – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route A – Roadside work planned Dec. 31 at County Road 1011. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
I-70 – New pavement construction continues from the Route M (near mile marker 144) to Kingdom City (near mile marker 148) as part of the Improve I-70 Program. Motorists can expect intermittent and long-term lane closures for the duration of the project, which has an overall completion date in 2027. **
Camden County
Route A – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 at Prairie Rose Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
U.S. Route 54 – Pavement widening and driveway entrance improvements continue from Business Route 5 to Bumper Hill Road. One lane in each direction will remain open. However, traffic is shifted, eliminating the center turn lane. This phase of the project is scheduled for completion in spring 2026.
Crawford County
Missouri Route 8 – Culvert replacements planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route CC – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Routes 8, 49, M, V, and Y– Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
North Outer Road 44 – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from Route U to Route F. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Howard County
Missouri Route 124 – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 29 – 31 from Route A to the Boone County line. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 240 – Shoulder work planned Dec. 29 – 31 from Route W to County Road 419. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route U – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – 31. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Laclede County
Route AA – CLOSED in various locations for culvert replacements Dec. 29 – Jan. 2., 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily. Motorists must use an alternate route.
Routes N and Z – Culvert replacements planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Missouri Route 5 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Lebanon at Adams Street. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026.
Maries County
U.S. Route 63 – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. from Route A to I-44 in Phelps County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route T – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from Route JJ to County Road 214. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route AA – CLOSED for a bridge deck replacement project over the Maries River. A signed detour is in place to direct motorist around the closure. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-January 2026.
Miller County
Route D – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 at Lola Circle. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Moniteau County
Missouri Route 87 and Route C intersection – Roundabout construction continues. The intersection will remain open but is narrowed to one lane with temporary signals directing traffic through the work zone. Motorists should expect delays. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026.
Morgan County
Missouri Route 52 – Roadside work planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from Route FF to Missouri Route 135. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route Y – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 52 and Route 5 intersection – Roundabout construction continues in Versailles. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026.
Osage County
Route C – Culvert replacements planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 in various locations. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Phelps County
I-44 – Diamond grinding scheduled Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 at the westbound exit ramp to U.S. Route 63/Business Loop 44 (Exit 186) in Rolla. The ramp will remain open but narrowed.
U.S. Route 63 – Pavement repairs planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from I-44 to Route A in Maries County. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route BB – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from Forum Drive to Country Club Road. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route O – Culvert replacements planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route D – CLOSED for a bridge rehabilitation project over I–44, approximately 7 miles southwest of Doolittle. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-January 2026.
Missouri Route 72 – Pedestrian facility upgrades continue in Rolla. Work will require temporary closures of pedestrian facilities and intermittent single-lane closures with flaggers to direct motorists through the work zone. The project is scheduled for completion in January 2026.
Pulaski County
Missouri Route 17 – Shoulder work planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2 from Crocker to Waynesville. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Washington County
Route M – Culvert replacement planned Dec. 29 – Jan. 2. One lane will remain open, and crews will flag traffic through the work zone.
Route 8 – Bridge rehabilitation over the Union Pacific Railroad. Work is currently suspended. The roadway will remain open throughout the project but is narrowed to one lane. Motorists should expect delays. For more information about the work stoppage: https://www.modot.org/node/80126
Missouri Route 47 – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project over Mill Creek. A signed detour is in place. The project is scheduled for completion in mid-January 2026.
