SIKESTON—The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve two bridges located on Route A in Wayne County.
The bridge projects include:
- Rehabilitating the Route A bridge over Otter Creek, located south of County Road 430.
- Replacing the Route A bridge over Small Creek, located between County Road 371 and County Road 400.
Work to improve the bridges could begin as early as winter 2026-2027.
During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each bridge for approximately two months, weather permitting. Construction schedules will be coordinated to avoid closing the bridges simultaneously.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.
