JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – U.S. Route 50 in Jefferson City and all associated ramps are now open. Bridge rehabilitation work over Vetter Lane wrapped up Oct. 22 – ahead of schedule – allowing traffic patterns to return to normal.
Construction crews from E & C Bridge, LLC, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, narrowed U.S. Route 50 over Vetter Lane to one lane in each direction on Sept. 8 to replace seals on the bridge joints, apply a protective coating to the substructure, and repair and overlay the bridge deck. While this rehabilitation work was originally expected to continue through November, the contractor was able to complete the work several weeks early.
Rehabilitation work on 10 of 11 bridges in this Jefferson City bridge bundle is now complete, and no more traffic impacts are anticipated for the remainder of the year. Construction crews plan to rehabilitate the Bolivar Street bridge over U.S. Route 50 in 2026. The removal of the trilevel bridge that is no longer in use is also scheduled for 2026. Schedules are subject to change.
