REMINDER: CASS COUNTY –  The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) is seeking public input regarding the replacement of the Missouri Route 7 Bridge over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail in Cass County. The comment period opened at 4 p.m. on Monday,  Aug. 11 and will remain open until 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 25. The public is invited to leave questions and comments on the project webpage.

A public meeting was held on Monday, Aug. 11 in the commons area of Pleasant Hill High School.

The truss-style bridge over Big Creek and the Rock Island Trail on MO Route 7 (Dr. Fred L. Seevers Memorial Bridge), built in 1948, is nearing the end of its service life and is scheduled to be replaced with a girder-style bridge. The bridge is located just north of Raffurty Road and just south of 1st Street in Pleasant Hill.

Construction is anticipated to take place from spring 2026 through the end of 2026. During construction, MO Route 7 will be closed from MO Route 291 to MO Route 58. Motorists are encouraged to use MO Route 58 and MO Route 291 during construction. The Rock Island Trail, under the bridge, will be intermittently closed during key stages of construction.
