ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Middle Fork Grand River Bridge on U.S. Route 169 in Worth County is now scheduled to close Wednesday, Aug. 27, for a bridge deck replacement project. The bridge was originally scheduled to close Monday, Aug. 25 but was delayed due to the contractor completing remaining work on the East Fork Grand River Bridge on Route M.
Route 169 will not close at the Middle Fork Grand River Bridge, until the Route M East Fork Grand River Bridge opens on Aug. 27.
Traffic Impacts: During construction, Route 169 will be closed at the Middle Fork Grand River Bridge. A signed detour will be in place guiding motorists from Route 169 to Missouri Route 46 to Worth County Route C to Worth County Route M to Route 169. The Middle Fork Grand River Bridge is expected to reopen by in October 2025.
The Missouri Department of Transportation contracted Capital Paving & Construction, LLC to replace the decks of the Middle Fork Grand River Bridge and the East Fork Grand River Bridge in Worth County and the Zounds Creek Bridge in Gentry County.
