SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to improve two bridges in Scott and Cape Girardeau Counties.
The bridge projects include:
- Replacing the Route C bridge over St. John’s Drainage Ditch, located between County Road 407 and County Road 425 east of Morley, Missouri in Scott County.
- Rehabilitating the Route BB bridge over Caney Creek, located between County Road 476 and County Road 481 in Cape Girardeau County.
Work to improve the bridges could begin as early as February 2026.
During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each bridge. The Route C closure is anticipated for approximately three months, and the Route BB closure is anticipated for approximately two months.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT’s Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

Any person affected by these projects may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Aug. 19, 2025.
