ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – Interstate 35 in Daviess County will be closed overnight again next week, Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 20, for demolition of the Missouri Route 6 bridge near Altamont. Capital Paving & Construction, LLC, contracted by the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed I-35 overnight this week, June 10-13, but will need additional time to complete the demolition as part of the Route 6 deck replacement project.
Traffic Impacts: I-35 under the Route 6 bridge will be closed overnight in both directions June 16-20. The interstate will close beginning at 7 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. each night. During the closure, I-35 traffic will be directed up and over the ramps at Route 6 (Exit 64). There will be no access to/from Route 6 during the closure. Motorists on Route 6 will need to use U.S. Route 69 (Exit 69 to the north and Exit 61 to the south).
The Route 6 bridge is closed and is expected to reopen by late August 2025.
