HANNIBAL – The Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT), announces changes to the proposed design for intersection improvements at U.S. Route 36 and Kellogg Avenue in the City of Macon.
Based on feedback received at a May 5 public meeting and a two-week open comment period, MoDOT, working with its consultant EFK Moen, LLC, revised the proposed plans for the project at the U.S. Route 36 and Kellogg Avenue intersection. Intersection improvements will include lighting upgrades and widening of the north and south approaches, and median crossover; however, all traffic movements at this location will continue to remain unrestricted. This change reflects MoDOT’s collaborative approach to infrastructure and the needs of the community.
The proposed plans at the U.S. 63/36 interchange and the U.S. 63 and Bus. 36 intersection remain unchanged and will feature several upgrades to improve safety, capacity, and mobility through the interchange, including bridge rehabilitation, off-ramp realignments, turn lane improvements at the ramp terminals, traffic signal, and lighting upgrades.
These projects are set to be under contract this Fall with completion in Fall of 2026.
