MoDOT to close Route MM in Franklin County for four months starting Tuesday, May 27

FRANKLIN COUNTY- The Missouri Department of Transportation will close Route MM in Franklin County for approximately four months starting Tuesday, May 27, at 9 a.m.

Crews will be working on two box culverts on Route MM and a curve realignment under the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge.

Starting Tuesday, work will begin on the two box culverts just north of the primary entrance to Purina Farms in Gray Summit. MoDOT will perform work on these box culverts one at a time, and each location is expected to take two weeks to complete. Once the box culvert repairs are completed, crews will shift the closure location on Route MM to the curve realignment under the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge.

The curve realignment work will require a three-month closure on Route MM, with the two box culverts requiring one month, for a four-month total closure. During this four-month closure, Route MM will be closed to traffic. Signed detour routes will be in place.

To notify local traffic, electronic message boards will be posted at the intersections of Route MM, Route T, and Route 100.

For motorists looking to access Purina Farms, drivers are advised to take Route 100 in Gray Summit to William Danforth Way.

All work is weather-dependent.
