ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Department of Transportation has begun rehabilitation work on the westbound Interstate 64 Boone Bridge over the Missouri River. All work is weather permitting.
Starting Wednesday, March 26, crews will close up to three lanes nightly on westbound I-64 from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. On eastbound I-64, up to three lanes close nightly from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. During the overnight work, the auxiliary lanes will be closed.
This work is part of splitting traffic into the median with both eastbound and westbound lanes to complete the Boone bridge rehabilitation. MoDOT will maintain three through lanes on each direction of I-64, but two of the westbound lanes will be temporarily shifted to the eastbound bridge. A barrier wall will separate both directions of traffic.
To allow the contractor adequate space to work safely, the outside (auxiliary lanes) in both directions will be closed within the work zone limits.
Drivers can use the Route 364 Veterans Memorial Bridge to cross between St. Louis and St. Charles counties as an alternate route.
