JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking community input on plans to rehabilitate two bridges along Missouri Route 7, between Camden County Route T and the city of Richland, in 2026. The public's input is essential and by commenting, questioning and providing insight during the in-person meeting and the three-week comment period, the community can help guide the design and construction process.
Both the bridge over Sellars Creek and the bridge over Murphy Creek were built in 1964 and rehabilitated in 1988. While the supporting structures are in good condition, the driving surfaces have deteriorated and need to be replaced. Currently, the plans call for closing Route 7 with a signed detour during construction.
The open-house style meeting is scheduled Thursday, March 27, at the at the Richland City Hall located at 204 E. Washington Ave. Attendees may come and go as they please at any time from 4:30 to 6 p.m., as there will be no formal presentation. The project team will be on hand to answer questions, provide information, and receive input about the project. The meeting exhibits will also be made available online.
In addition to the public meeting, there will be a three-week comment period running March 20 – April 10. Input can be submitted online through a form on the project webpage, emailed to CDCR@modot.mo.gov, or mailed to Route 7 Bridge Deck Replacements over Sellars Creek and Murphy Creek in Camden County, c/o MoDOT, 1511 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO, 65102. All comments must be received or postmarked by April 10.
