MoDOT KC to host Public Meeting for NB U.S. 169 Bridge in Clay County, May 27

CLAY COUNTY - The Missouri Department of Transportation Kansas City (MoDOT KC) will hold an open house style meeting to discuss the replacement of the northbound U.S. 169 bridge over BNSF railroad. While safe to travel on the current bridge is reaching the end of its service life. Construction is anticipated to begin the Summer of 2026 following the World Cup and will last for two full years.  Northbound U.S. 169 will be closed during construction of the bridge.  Northbound U.S. 169 traffic will be detoured to 9 Highway and Interstate 29/35.  Access to the downtown airport will be maintained during construction.

The meeting will be held Tuesday, May 27 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the North Kansas City YMCA located at 1999 Iron Street, North Kansas City, MO 64116.The meeting will provide the opportunity for attendees to ask questions, learn more about the project, and leave a comment.

The meeting will be an open house meeting with no formal presentation. Following the public meeting there will also be an opportunity to view project displays and exhibits and leave comments on the project webpage beginning at 4 pm on Tuesday, May 27 until 4 pm on Tuesday, June 10.
