Project to Rehabilitate Three Bridges in Jasper Co. Focus of Online Public Meeting March 9-23

Jasper County – The public is invited to participate in a virtual (online) public meeting to learn more about plans to rehabilitate three (3) bridges in Jasper County north of Joplin, two (2) on Missouri Route 43 and one (1) on Route M, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The virtual (online) meeting will be available for two (2) weeks from Sunday, March 9 through Sunday, March 23 and can be accessed at www.modot.org/southwest.

The project entails removing the bridge deck/driving surfaces and replacing them with new, smoother, safer driving surfaces on these three bridges:

  • Missouri Route 43 over the North Fork Spring River
  • Missouri Route 43 over the Spring River
  • Jasper County Route M over Duval Creek

The estimated cost for these three (3) bridges is $3.7 million. Work is tentatively scheduled to begin later this summer with completion in the summer of 2026.

We are committed to providing equal access for all participants. Access for people with disabilities is available. Those unable to access the online meeting are encouraged to contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office at 417.895.7600 and accommodations will be made to share the information and gather feedback.
