Delayed: Chariton County Route D Mussel Fork Creek Bridge replacement

Northwest Bridge Bundle project to now begin Feb. 24

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Chariton County Route D bridge over Mussel Fork Creek, located between Marceline and Keytesville, is now set to close Monday, Feb. 24, for a bridge replacement project. Capital – Horner & Shifrin, the Northwest Bridge Bundle design-build team, has delayed the project start date several times due to weather and contractor schedules.

The project to replace the bridge is now expected to be completed in July 2025.

Traffic Impacts: Route D will be closed at the Mussel Fork Creek Bridge between Mussel Fork Avenue and Tonka Lane. Motorists will need to seek an alternate route.

More information about the project can be found at: https://www.modot.org/projects/northwest-missouri-design-build-bridge-bundle.

All work is weather permitting and schedules are subject to change.
