Cole County Route D reopens at North Moreau Creek bridge

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo –The Cole County Route D bridge over North Moreau Creek is now open. After replacing the bridge deck and repairing deteriorated structural steel, construction crews were able to reopen the bridge to all traffic Monday, Nov. 25, 2024.

Crews from Gene Haile Excavating, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, closed Route D over North Moreau Creek on Aug. 12 to replace the bridge deck. Removing the deck revealed that the beams had deteriorated at the expansion joint, requiring additional, unanticipated work that extended the original time frame. Crews completed all work Monday evening.
