MoDOT seeking input on Howard County intersection realignment

Online public meeting and three-week comment period Nov. 22 to Dec. 13

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Missouri Department of Transportation is seeking input on a project that will change the intersection of Missouri Route 5 and U.S. Route 40 in Howard County from its current configuration to a “T” with added turn lanes.

MoDOT has multiple ways interested parties can learn about and provide input on the project during the three-week comment period, which runs Nov. 22 – Dec. 13:

  • Online - The meeting exhibits are available online at the project webpage: https://www.modot.org/us-route-40-and-missouri-route-5-intersection-improvements-howard. While there, comments may be submitted via an online form.
  • By email – Send your comments to CDCR@modot.mo.gov by Dec. 13 with the subject line: Howard County Route 40 and Route 5 Intersection.
  • By mail – Comments may be mailed, postmarked by Dec. 13, to Howard County Route 40 and Route 5 Intersection c/o MoDOT, 1511 Missouri Boulevard, Jefferson City, MO, 65109.

MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
