JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – The Central Coalition for Roadway Safety and regional safety partners are working towards zero traffic fatalities by asking mid-Missourians to take simple actions proven to save lives as part of the eighth annual Buckle Up Phone Down Day on Oct. 30, 2024.
“The good news is that 88 percent of Missourians wear their seat belt and more than 55,000 have taken the pledge to buckle up and put their phone down when driving,” said Trent Brooks, Central Region Coalition for Roadway Safety Representative. “We want to continue fostering that environment where it’s common place to take those two simple, life-saving actions.”
To that goal, the Central Coalition for Roadway Safety is giving away 100 prize packages to those who commit to fastening their seat belts and putting their phones down while driving.
Gear showing their commitment to always Buckle Up Phone Down (BUPD) will be sent to the first 100 participants who:
1 – Live in one of the Central Coalition for Roadway Safety’s 18 counties: Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Cooper, Crawford, Dent, Gasconade, Howard, Laclede, Maries, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan, Osage, Phelps, Pulaski, or Washington.
