Upcoming bridge repair work on westbound Interstate 70 in Boone County

No access to Routes O & J at the bridge starting October 16

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The bridge on Interstate 70 over Boone County Routes O and J was recently damaged when a vehicle struck the bridge. A project to repair the bridge, located just east of Rocheport at Exit 117 will begin October 16, 2024.

At their September meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $365,616 contract to Hardy Construction, LLC to complete the repair project. During construction, one lane of I-70 will be temporarily diverted using the off-ramp and on-ramps at Exit 117. This diversion will temporarily close access to Routes O and J at the bridge. A detour will be signed for both routes. The detour for Route O will direct motorists to the Route BB exit (Exit 115), while Route J traffic will be detoured to the U.S. Route 40 exit (Exit 121).

The project is expected to be completed in 25 calendar days.
