JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – Rehabilitation work on the Cole County Route B bridge over the Moreau River, north of Wardsville, is scheduled to begin Monday, Sept. 16, 2024. While the bridge will remain open, motorists should expect delays during peak traffic hours.
Built in 1978, the expansion joints have deteriorated from weather, water, and salt. During the bridge rehabilitation project, one lane will be open across the bridge with temporary traffic signals guiding motorists through the work zone. Work is expected to continue through the end of November.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
MoDOT contracted with Concrete Strategies, LLC to rehabilitate this bridge and two others in Jefferson City. For more information, or to sign up for project-specific updates, visit the project’s webpage at https://www.modot.org/route-b-bridge-rehabilitation-over-moreau-river-cole.
MoDOT asks all motorists to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, obeying all traffic signs, and slowing down and moving over in work zones. Motorists are advised to use extra caution through work zones, obey all traffic signs, and avoid any distractions.
