Districts Impacted
The Cole County Route B bridge over the Moreau River, north of Wardsville, was built in 1978. Due to weather, water, and salt, the expansion joints need repaired. The bridge will have one lane open during the rehabilitation work with temporary traffic signals guiding motorists through the work zone.
PROJECT PROGRESS
A project to repair the expansion joints was designed by engineers with the Missouri Department of Transportation.
As part of their February 2024 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $3,309,174.67 contract for this work and work on two bridges in Jefferson City to Concrete Strategies, LLC. At that time the contractor was given a March 11, 2024, notice to proceed date - the earliest date they could begin work - and a Dec. 1, 2024, completion date.
Rehabilitation work began Sept. 20, 2024, and was completed on Nov. 26, 2024. Route B over the Moreau River was reduced to one lane with temporary traffic signals guiding motors through the work zone.
