ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A DeKalb County intersection improvement project is scheduled to begin Tuesday, Sept. 3 on U.S. Route 69, and Route EE north of Cameron. Leavenworth Excavating & Equipment Company, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will add a left-turn lane for northbound motorists on U.S. Route 69 wanting to turn onto Route EE.
Beginning September 3, Route 69 will be narrowed to one lane. Traffic will be directed through the work zone by temporary traffic signals. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place.
Route 69 just south of Route EE will be closed for a culvert pipe replacement from 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 to 8 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 22. A signed detour will be in place guiding motorists around the closure. Detour information will be made available prior to the closure.
This project is scheduled to be complete in November 2024.
