JEFFERSON CITY, Mo – Laclede County Route B bridge over the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River is scheduled to close soon for a bridge deck replacement project. Construction crews, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will close the bridge to all traffic beginning the morning of Aug. 26.
Built in 1964, the supporting structures of the bridge are in good condition. The driving surface, however, has deteriorated, is in poor condition, and needs to be replaced. The bridge is expected to remain closed through November. Throughout the closure, a signed detour will be in place directing motorists to use Missouri Routes 32 and 5, and Laclede County Route O.
At their March 2024 meeting, the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded a $1,136,034.00 contract to E & C Bridge, LLC to complete this bridge deck replacement. All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change.
