OPEN NOW: Interstate 29 in Buchanan County

Buchanan County Cook Road Bridge rehabilitation project

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – All lanes of Interstate 29 in Buchanan County are now open. Contractors from Clarkson Construction Company, working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, reopened the interstate at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 after driving bridge piling that will support the sidewalk which will be added to Cook Road Bridge during the rehabilitation project.

The interstate is scheduled to close again from 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 16 through 7 a.m. Friday, July 19 to remove the bridge deck and place the new beam for the sidewalk. The same detour will be used during this closure (detour map).
