Commission Awards Contracts for Southeast District Projects
SIKESTON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for the Southeast District during its regular meeting on Oct. 12. Contracts included resurfacing projects that are part of Governor Parson’s Rural Roads Program. With the Governor’s signing of the Fiscal Year 2024 budget, an additional $100 million in General Revenue is available for Missouri’s low volume rural roads. Using asset management data, the Missouri Department of Transportation has identified 1,567 lane miles of low volume roads ranked in Poor Condition. These locations will receive resurfacing treatments of hot mix asphalt to improve the road conditions. The roads are being bundled into several large contracts across the state.
Contracts included the following:
- A $3,063,000 contract was awarded to Pace Construction Company for the following resurfacing projects:
- Route C in from Route 91 to east of Interstate 55 in Scott County,
- Route ZZ from the beginning of state maintenance to Route NN in Dunklin County,
- Route V from the north junction of Route 177 to the south junction of Route 177 in Cape Girardeau County,
- Route A from Route M to Route 51 in Madison County, and;
- Route B from Route 72 to Route M in Bollinger County.
- A $2,218,000 contract was awarded to Pace Construction Company for the following resurfacing projects:
- Route CC from the beginning of state maintenance to Route 21 in Iron County,
- Route BB from the beginning of state maintenance to Route 160 in Ripley County,
- Route K from Route 72 to Route H in Madison County, and;
- Route H from Route 21 to the end of state maintenance in Reynolds County.
Additional information, regarding timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.
