Where: Westbound I-44 at Mile Marker 108 east of Marshfield where new bridge over Sarah Branch is being constructed
When: For a short time between 11 a.m. & 4 p.m., Thursday & Friday, July 13 & 14
What: Westbound I-44 traffic slowed/stopped to allow contractor to set bridge girders for new bridge
Traffic Impacts:
- Law enforcement officers slowing and stopping westbound I-44 traffic beginning at the rest area at Mile Marker 111
- Traffic attempting to leave the rest area and head west on I-44 will be stopped for a short period of time while contractor crews set girders for the new bridge
Weather and/or scheduling conflicts could alter the work schedule.
Details: This work is part of a three-year project to improve 25 bridges within 15 miles of I-44 across the Southwest District. Of the 25 bridges in the project, known as the I-44 Corridor Bridge Bundle, seven (7) are mainline I-44 bridges, five (5) are I-44 overpass bridges and the remaining bridges are on adjacent routes over various features. Sixteen (16) bridges will be replaced and nine (9) bridges will receive major rehabilitation work.
