Grundy County Route W bridge over Wolf Creek open

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Grundy County Route W bridge over Wolf Creek is open following a bridge replacement project. Phillips Hardy, Inc., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, began the replacement project of the Wolf Creek Bridge, located between Route WW and Route 6, in early February. Crews were able to reopen this section of Route W to all traffic on Friday afternoon, June 30.

Construction of the new Route W Hickory Creek Bridge, located south of the Wolf Creek Bridge between Route WW and Route F, is expected to continue through July. Motorists will continue to be directed around the closure by a signed detour on Routes 6 and F.

In addition to these bridge replacement projects, an additional project on Route 6 will affect motorists who regularly use Grundy County Route W:

Grundy County Route 6 safety improvement project at the intersections of 30th Avenue and Route 146/W. The contractor is currently working on Phase 1 of the project, which has closed access from Route 6 to 30th Avenue. During Phase 2, access to/from Route W at Route 6 will be closed. Crews currently anticipate Phase 2 beginning in mid-July and continuing through early October. https://www.modot.org/grundy-county-route-6-intersection-improvements-project.
