ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Livingston County Route D bridge over Rattlesnake Creek is scheduled to close tomorrow morning Wednesday, May 17. Due to continued deterioration of the bridge superstructure, inspection crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation have determined that the bridge will close until it can be replaced. Once closed, motorists will need to seek an alternate route.
The bridge, built in 1965, has been identified as a priority replacement in the Northwest Bridge Bundle, a Design-Build project which will replace or rehabilitate up to 34 poor condition bridges in north central Missouri. If a contract is awarded in December 2023, the project would require the Design-Build team to have the Rattlesnake Creek Bridge project completed by Dec. 1, 2024.
