DELAYED: Gentry County Route E bridge replacement postponed until May 22

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The Walnut Fork Bridge on Gentry County Route E bridge replacement has been delayed again due to contractor schedule changes and material availability. The project, that was planned to start in April, now has an anticipated May 22 start date. The bridge, located one and a half miles east of U.S. Route 169, will be replaced by North Central Bridge, LLC, contracted by the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Crews plan to close a segment of Route E at the bridge on Monday, May 22. The contractor is scheduled to have all work completed, and the bridge reopened by mid-August. The bridge, built in 1934, and rehabbed in 1994, was classified as in poor condition during its most recent inspection. During construction, motorists will need to use an alternate route during the closure.
