UPDATE: Rural route resurfacing starts after delays due to weather

Work is scheduled for Gentry, Harrison, Nodaway, Worth counties

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – A resurfacing project is scheduled to begin tomorrow on six routes across Gentry, Harrison, Nodaway and Worth counties. Herzog Contracting Corp., working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, will begin work on Thursday, March 30. The project was originally set to start on Monday, March 6, but was delayed due to the weather.

The updated schedule is as follows:

  • March 30-April 6: Harrison County Route EE from Route M to U.S. Route 136 in New Hampton
  • April 7-18: Gentry/Harrison County Route ZZ from Gentry Route T (Gentry County) in McFall to U.S. Route 136 (Harrison County) in New Hampton
  • April 19-27: Gentry/Worth County Route N from U.S. Route 136 (Gentry County) to Route M (Worth County)
  • April 14-18: Nodaway County Route D from Route KK to U.S. Route 71
  • April 19-27: Nodaway/Atchison County Route C from Route M (Atchison County) to U.S. Route 71 (Nodaway County)
  • April 28-May 9: Nodaway County KK from Route D to U.S. Route 136

Each route will be closed daily in segments up to 2 miles in length during the scheduled work. Travelers will need to seek an alternative route during the intermittent closures. All six routes are anticipated to be completed by the beginning of June.

Herzog completed the resurfacing of Holt County Route B and Daviess County Route AA during the fall of 2022 which are also included in this project.
