U.S. Route 50 Road Work to Start Monday, Feb. 20 in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY – Drivers who regularly use U.S. Route 50 in Franklin County should be aware of upcoming lane closures as crews begin work to resurface the road and make guardrail and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) upgrades from Independence Road to Missouri Route 47.

Work is expected to take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, Feb. 20, weather-permitting. One lane will be closed at times for concrete and sidewalk work.

Crews will upgrade the raised shoulders to ADA-compliant sidewalks, while updating drainage and existing traffic signals.

Work will start at Independence Drive and crews will make their way toward Koelling Avenue before moving further east on the project.

The entire Route 50 project is expected to be complete by late fall 2023, with a total cost of $6.94 million.

More information about this project can be found on MoDOT’s website: Route 50 from West Outer Independence Road to Route 47 | Missouri Department of Transportation (modot.org)
