MoDOT: Plans to Replace the Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge over MNA Railroad

in Springfield Focus of Virtual (Online) Public Meeting January 30-February 10

Springfield – The public is invited to a virtual (online) public meeting starting Monday, January 30, to learn more about plans for the Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) Bridge Replacement and Pedestrian Improvements Project in Springfield, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.

The meeting will be available for two weeks from Monday, January 30, until Friday, February 10, 2023, and can be accessed at www.modot.org/southwest.

The new bridge will add/improve pedestrian facilities and sidewalk on both sides of the roadway from Scenic Avenue to Marion Avenue. During 2023, the bridge will be replaced requiring the Sunshine Street bridge to be closed for up to four months. During the bridge closing, a detour map will available online using several state routes in the area.

The Sunshine Street (Missouri Route 413) bridge project’s estimated total cost is $5.9 million.

Construction of the new bridge will take place in 2023.
