Commission Awards Contracts for Southeast District Projects

SIKESTON – The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission awarded contracts for Southeast District projects during its regular meeting on Dec 6. Awarded contracts include resurfacing projects, an overpass installation, and bridge replacements.

Contracts include the following:

  • A $4,229,868 contract was awarded to Penzel Construction Company, Inc., for grading, paving and installation of a bridge overpass over Route 60 near Route 61 in Sikeston, Missouri in New Madrid County. This project received $2 million in funding through Governor Mike Parson’s cost share program and will receive funding from the city of Sikeston. This award is contingent based on the concurrence with the city of Sikeston.
  • A $1,071,000 contract was awarded to West Plains Bridge & Grading, LLC, for a bridge replacement on Route ZZ over Howell Creek in Howell County. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. 
  • A $5,118,310 contract was awarded to Apex Paving Co., for pavement resurfacing on Route 114 from Route 25 to Route 60 in Stoddard County.
  • An $838,391 contract was awarded to Joe’s Bridge & Grading, Inc., for a bridge replacement on Route FF over Rings Creek in Wayne County. This bridge is included in Gov. Mike Parson’s $351 million Focus on Bridges program, which will repair or replace 250 bridges across the state. 

Additional information, regarding timelines and impacts to traffic, will be released prior to the start of construction.
